Dear Whom It May Concern,

- ARTTECH 4047 Motion and Air

[20122019]

Drunk IMAGIN3 gives ideas to 3STELLE,

and sober 3STELLE suffers covering shits IMAGIN3 has made.

but at the end, everything always works out for ESTELLE.

2019. mixed media.

[20122019] is a collaborative artwork

by IMAGIN3 Song and 3STELLE Song,

curated by ESTELLE Song

for @20122019archive project.

Due to countless repetition of making and learning from mistakes IMAGIN3, the "artist", has caused.

ESTELLE Song has been going to SAIC for unnecessarily long time.

So many of those trial and errors could have been resolved or not even occurred

if there was a database or someone to ask for at that time, according to 3STELLE, the "archivist".

When ESTELLE faced this issue,

IMAGIN3 saw it as a chance of expressing itself through creative art making process; why not "make" one when we can?

  • imagin3's randomness, enthusiasm, sympathy kicking in

and 3STELLE thought well, I love the process of creating a perfect archive, why not?

agreed with IMAGIN3 for the first time in a while,

  • 3stelle's obsessive compulsive personality kicking in

and this agreement between IMAGIN3 and 3STELLE not only gave

ESTELLE peace in mind, but joy and all sorts of catharsis.

Therefore everything began with visualizing the

"process of creating an archive as an artist and archivist"

There were several bumps and ESTELLE suffered stumbling upon two conflicting ideas (archivist restricting artist, artist ignoring archivist)

however, ESTELLE found a way to satisfy both IMAGIN3 and 3STELLE's perspectives through practicing two different outcomes[(destructive/creative, visceral performance)+(reversible, archival practice)], yet combining those two at the end to make it as one [archive].

The work 20122019 is represented as Estelle Song's art piece for the ARTTECH 4047 Motion and Air course, yet it really is by three very different personas, IMAGIN3, 3STELLE, and ESTELLE, who are responsible for both good and bad decisions Estelle Song has made throughout her life in SAIC.
