Dear Whom It May Concern,

- PTDW 2030 Figure Drawing: Multi-Level

How much I miss Kevin. I cannot emphasize the importance of figure drawing for an artist, but there is nothing more important than meeting 'the instructor' who inspires you, defines your attitude as an artist, style of artistic practice, and so many more - it was professor Kevin Wolff for me, who passed away recently.

At first I was intimidated by his harshness - for the first time in my life, I did not hear a single compliment from the instructor, which was in Kevin's very first lecture, and I was devastated - do I suck THAT much? LITERALLY there has been no one who commented about my figure drawing skill, and my ego and confidence hit the rock bottom.

Kevin was not an easy person to approach to, I still remember how I felt after every single critique, and most of people who took his classes, were either in deep hatred towards, or in love with him. Needless to say, I was in love with him, despite of the fact that I was scolded for the whole time.

One of the reasons why I am still in SAIC is thanks to Kevin. He was extremely objective, edgy and strict, yet there were several things that I was influenced and established who I am today. I will explain this in next post.
