It does help, I mean, my high school required me to learn research skills before I graduate so I kinda knew and I have been basically recycling what I learned back in that time until I graduate SAIC for sure. 

Research studio surely helps you to start manipulating your artist statement that you will be using, pretty much for a while. Also how to bullshit through a random speech for your artworks so you can dodge bullets for skipping classes and the fact that you basically made this piece up last night.
